Legislative and Executive Committed to Increasing Teacher Salary

Jakarta City Council together with Jakarta Provincial Government have a shared view to fight for increasing teacher salary.

This is our collective responsibility

The statement was made by Chairman of Jakarta City Council, Khoirudin in commemorating National Teacher Day, Wednesday (11/26).

According to Khoirudin, the government has indeed provided decent salaries for teachers in state schools. However, the conditions of private school teachers still fall far short of that standard.

"Private teachers lack standards. This is our collective responsibility, especially for the city council, to improve teacher welfare," he added.

Khoirudin continued that Teacher's Day is a special moment to honor educators who continue to be present and struggle to educate the nation's children.

"Teachers are heroes. They have made the greatest contribution to educating the younger generation to fill their future lives with their sincerity and dedication. Everything we achieve today is thanks to the services of teachers. I, as Speaker of the Regional People's Representative Council, also stand in this position because of the services of teachers," he stated.
